The Cartagena-born triathlete from Mobel Sport competed on 29 April in the first race of this year's IRONMAN franchise in Europe, which was held in Marbella, with a total of 2,500 triathletes from 65 different nationalities.
A race full of elites and where Pedro made his professional debut alongside the best in the world. This did not make him nervous and from the first sector of the swim he was positioned among the top 30 to finish in 20 minutes and start the bike sector where he began to recover positions until he placed 21st in T2.
With a final 21-kilometre run, Pedro ran at a very high pace, making it clear that he is here to stay and to face the rest of the professionals. After 1:18 of race, Pedro finally crossed the finish line in 19th place overall and 3rd best Spanish in his first competition in professional category, a position that according to his words: "does not say much, but it makes me feel professional and to be able to run with people I have admired and with whom I am now fighting, that for me is the best prize".

And great performance also of our triathlete from Malaga, Patricia Bueno Perez, who finished in an impressive TOP10 in cat. FEM and 2nd best Spanish, with an impressive comeback during the final sector of the run.
The race consisted of a 1,900-kilometre one-lap swim in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, starting and finishing at Levante Beach in Puerto Banús. Afterwards, the cycling segment was also a one-lap race, 90 kilometres, which started in the well-known "Golden Mile" and after crossing Marbella, it went through the Port of Ojén and the towns of Monda, Coín and Cartama before returning to the transition area in Puerto Banús. Finally, the foot race consisted of two laps of 10.5 km to complete the 21km along the promenade of Marbella with the finish line located on the sand of Puerto Banus beach. In the men's category the victory went to David McNamee with 3:57:47 followed by Chis Leiferman with the same time (0.18 seconds behind) and third came Andreas Dreitz with 3:58:43. In the women's race the victory went to Laura Phillip with a time of 4:25:29 ahead of Marta Bernardi with 4:31:28 and Daniela Saemmler who closed the podium with 4:33:09.
