Mobel with the Vuelta a Murcia Master 2016. One more year and better
Two magnificent days in which 151 riders from the best teams of the national masters category have disputed a frenetic tour of Murcia, with three stages full of tension and motivation adorned by a sun and a perfect temperature to give to the pedals. The first stage, on Saturday morning, flat and short but as expected very fast and intense, which served to dress leader Teófilo Jiménez of C.C. Ciclos Teo. The second stage, on Saturday afternoon, more than a time trial was a time trial, very disputed and with constant beatings of times, but in the end José David Gómez of PC Componentes - Renault Ginestar was the fastest being also the only cyclist in lowering the time of 10 minutes. It was a great time for José David, who wore the yellow jersey and was full of encouragement to face the queen stage on Sunday. The last stage was 112 km long and with four mountain passes on an impressive route worthy of the great professional tours. To make matters worse, the GD Orquín and PC Componentes teams engaged in a beautiful sporting battle for the final victory of the race, which gave the fragmented peloton a devastating pace. In the end José David was able to knock out all the attacks and confirm his victory, although the stage was taken by a great Juan Carlos Fdez "El Puma" of GD Orquín.
Our team, the CC Rubén Fernéndez - Mobel - Mister Moon, was impressive throughout the whole tour, with a colossal Pedro Mtnez Romera who finished 6th overall, 4th in his category M30 and 2nd best Murcian, almost epic in the last stage where he showed his claws in the last kilometres to the leader of the tour.
For the organisation of the Vuelta a Murcia Máster we only have words of praise. This year the epicentre and start/finish of all the stages was moved to the Balnerio de Archena, a marvellous enclave that welcomed all the cyclists and provided them with all their comforts. The stages were beautiful, especially the one on Sunday which had a spectacular route, half mountain, rural areas, marshes, narrow roads and green fields that made us move to the Italian Tuscany, to enjoy the good cycling and where at all times we have felt safety as an essential value and 100% guaranteed.
This has been the confirmation of the Vuelta a Murcia Master as one of the most important sporting events in the region, and one of the most prestigious national competitions in the master category. We invite all cycling lovers for the next edition, which will be the eighth already, and we are sure we will continue to enjoy this brave sport, always more and better.
